Freedom Flyer (IRE)

AGE = 5yo (28th April 2017)         SEX = Gelding

COLOUR = Bay

TRAINER = Ruth Carr

Notes
This good looking son of Invincible Spirit is our first horse in training with Ruth Carr. We purchased him privately in April 2022, and we are very much looking forward to the season ahead.

Freedom Flyer cost 160,000 Guineas when sold at Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sales back in October 2018. Trained by Simon Crisford, he didn't make his racecourse debut until July 2020 when he was a 3yo. He ran 3 times, including when winning his Maiden on his second start. He was then sold at the Tattersalls Horses In Training Sales in October 2020, when he moved to Ruth.

Last season (2021) was his first with Ruth, and he managed to run 11 times from March to November, showing what a tough hardy horse he is. He started the campaign off a handicap mark of 78, and ran over both 5f and 6f on various ground types. Although he never managed to get his head in front, he ran very respectably on occasions, including at the backend of last season, when he finished 2nd, beaten just a short head at Wolverhampton.

He starts this season off a handicap mark of 65, and our opinion is that we have a well handicapped horse on our hands, who should provide his owners with plenty of fun.

He has wintered very well, and we can't wait to see him on the racecourse.

Gimme Some Sugar (GB)

AGE = 2yo (21st April 2020)         SEX = Filly
COLOUR = Bay

TRAINER = Simon Pearce

Notes
We were delighted to secure this really attractive bay filly from Book 3, Tattersalls Yearling Sales. Her sire (Equiano) is son of Acclamation, so is bred for speed. When racing he was a top class sprinter, having won both the 2008 & 2010 Group 1 Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. The dam (Nawaashi) is a daughter of Green Desert, so again has plenty of speed on her page. She was owned by Shadwell Estate and managed to win one race in her career, which was a 6 furlong Maiden as a 2yo. The highest rating she achieved was 78.

Our filly's dam (Nawaashi) has always been covered with stallions with more of a middle distance influence, yet this filly is the first of her offspring that has been produced from a stallion with so much speed. She has really good physical conformation, and looks like a real speed ball with plenty of scope to progress.

This filly is qualified for the Great British Bonus Scheme. The Great British Bonus (GBB) is an industry-wide prize scheme for breeders and owners of British-bred Flat and Jump fillies. The owners of this filly can win up to £20,000 per eligible race on top of any prize money.

Georgia Madeleine (IRE)

AGE = 2yo (21st February 2020)         SEX = Filly
COLOUR = Chestnut

TRAINER = Simon Pearce

Notes
This gorgeous 2yo filly was the second top lot at Tattersalls Book 4 Yearling Sales. The sire (Pearl Secret) was a classy sprinter, who's career highlight was when winning the Group 2 Temple  Stakes at Haydock. The dam (Rocknahardplace) is an unraced daughter of the top class Rock Of Gibraltar, who won 7 x Group 1 races including the 2000 Guineas in 2002 when racing. Her dam (Gilded Edge) achieved a peak rating of 95.

The dam has only had one horse make the racecourse to date. She is in fact a full sister to our filly, called Might And Mercy. She is still only a 2yo herself, and has so far only run 3 times in Ireland this year. In her last race she finished 2nd to a horse called Threebagsfull, who has since achieved a Racing Post Rating of 92. The 3rd horse in that particular race is called Special Power, and he has since gone onto to achieve a Racing Post Rating of 87. The form of that race looks very strong now.

We really like her as a physical specimen. She has very strong shoulders and looks every inch a 2yo with scope to progress.

Kissed By Ice (GB)

AGE = 3yo (27th February 2019)         SEX = Filly
COLOUR = Grey

TRAINER = Simon Pearce

Notes
A gorgeous looking daughter of first season sire El Kabeir, himself is a son of Scat Daddy, who is a phenomenal source of raw speed. We purchased her in October at the Tattersalls Yearling Sales at Newmarket. She's looking very strong and powerful herself and we cannot wait to see her progress as a 3yo.

This filly is qualified for the Great British Bonus Scheme. The Great British Bonus (GBB) is an industry-wide prize scheme for breeders and owners of British-bred Flat and Jump fillies. The owners of this filly can win up to £10,000 per eligible race on top of any prize money.

Stubble Field (GB)

AGE = 3yo (20th March 2019)         SEX = Filly
COLOUR = Bay

TRAINER = Simon Pearce

Notes
This attractive filly, consigned by Whitsbury Manor Stud, was purchased at the Tattersalls Book 3 Yearling Sales at Newmarket, on 16th October 2020 for just 9,000 guineas.

She made her debut in a competitive Novice Stakes at Ascot on 3rd September 2021. She ran an extremely eye catching race to finish a fast finishing 2nd (beaten just a neck) to the Shadwell Estate owned Khanjar.

The Racing Posts analysis was as follows;

"Stubble Field, a half-sister to a winning 2yo, looks an excellent buy at 9,000gns following this impressive debut, making rapid progress from the pack before forcing the hot favourite to pull out all the stops. She's clearly good enough to win a similar event and it would be no surprise were her owner to receive a few offers on the back of this".

This filly is eligible for the Great British Bonus Scheme. The Great British Bonus (GBB) is an industry-wide prize scheme for breeders and owners of British-bred Flat and Jump fillies. Owners, breeders and winning connections of each horse can win up to £20,000 per eligible race.
